Over Borski Fund

Borski Fund is een in Amsterdam gevestigd venture capital fonds dat investeert in tech scale-ups met een divers managementteam. Als eerste fonds in Europa, zet Borski Fund zich al sinds 2019 in om de gender-investeringskloof te dichten en innovatie en groei te stimuleren. Wij investeren in de toekomst van (vrouwen)gezondheidszorg en in bedrijven die industrieën op een duurzame manier transformeren, zoals Climate Tech. Veel van onze portfoliobedrijven hebben een AI-component en internationale ambities.

Het team is actief betrokken bij het verwezenlijken van de ambities van onze portfoliobedrijven. Dat doen we met onze eigen ondernemerservaring en door een uitgebreid netwerk aan te bieden. Ons core-team van investeringspartners en professionals wordt ondersteund door venture partners, domeinexperts, een gezondheidscomité en ons adviescomité.

Jouw rol als Investment Analyst

Als Investment Analyst werk je samen met de Investment Associate, de Investment Managers en de Partners om de fondsportfolio op te bouwen en te beheren. Je analyseert en modelleert ondernemingen en markten en trekt hier conclusies uit ten behoeve van investeringsvoorstellen en kan deze toetsen aan de duurzaamheids- en rendementsdoelstellingen. Daarnaast beheer je portfoliobedrijven onder begeleiding van de Investment Manager. Je werkt nauw samen in het team, je krijgt ruimte om vragen te stellen, én wordt begeleid in je ontwikkeling als investment professional.

Als Investment Analyst:

• —ben je onderdeel van het Investment Team gedurende het volledige investeringsproces, van het eerste gesprek en beoordeling tot en met de afronding van een investering;
• —analiseer en interpreteer je alle bedrijfskundige aspecten van (potentiële) investeringen;
• —onderzoek je markten, concurrenten, groeikansen en relevante technologische en industriële ontwikkelingen van zowel nieuw investeringen als voor de bestaande portfolio;
• —ondersteun je bij het monitoren, rapporteren van de portfoliobedrijven en signaleert tijdig kansen en aandachtspunten.

Wie zoeken we?

Je hebt:

• —een opleiding (Bedrijfs)Economie, econometrie of een technische studie aangevuld met een financiële opleiding en/of ervaring;
• —2 jaar werkervaring in VC investing, PE, (investment) banking/M&A of strategy consulting;
• —sterke interesse in de verduurzaming van de economie;
• —passie voor en bent nieuwsgierig naar tech-start-ups en scale-ups en hoe nieuwe technologieën kunnen helpen om impact en financieel rendement te versnellen;
• —ervaring met complexe financiële modellen en kunt lezen en schrijven met Excel;
• —uitstekende communicatieve vaardigheden in de Nederlandse en Engelse taal.

Ook doe je onderzoek naar je investering en denk je oplossingsgericht mee. Je durft nieuwe connecties te leggen, haalt informatie op, stelt vragen en komt beloftes na.
• —Communicatief sterk: je communiceert regelmatig over je voortgang en kan je communicatie(stijl) aanpassen aan de situatie. Je bent in staat gestructureerd en to the point te communiceren naar de klant en het team.
• —Leiderschap: je beschikt over zelfinzicht: je kan verbeterpunten benoemen, persoonlijke doelen stellen en aangeven wat er nodig is om deze te ontwikkelen. Je toont initiatief, stelt vragen en biedt ondersteuning binnen het team.
• —Resultaat- en kwaliteitsgericht: je bent in staat samen met de team lead en portfoliobedrijf het beoogde resultaat te definiëren en gestelde doelen te behalen en te toetsen. Je kijkt ook kritisch mee naar het proces ten behoeve van efficiëntie. Je bent goed in timemanagement. Houdt deadlines nauw in de gaten.

Your role as an Investment Analyst

As an Investment Analyst, you will work closely with the Investment Associate, Investment Managers, and Partners to build and manage the fund's portfolio.

You will analyse and model companies and markets, draw insights to support investment recommendations, and assess opportunities against both sustainability and financial return objectives. In addition, you will support portfolio companies under the guidance of an Investment Manager.

You will work in a collaborative team environment where you will have the opportunity to ask questions, learn continuously, and further develop yourself as an investment professional.

Your responsibilities include:

• —Being an integral part of the investment team throughout the entire investment process, from initial meetings and assessments through to deal execution and completion.
• —Analysing and evaluating all business aspects of potential and existing investments.
• —Researching markets, competitors, growth opportunities, and relevant technological and industry developments for both new investments and portfolio companies.
• —Supporting the monitoring and reporting of portfolio company performance while proactively identifying opportunities and potential risks.

Who are we looking for?

You have:

• —A degree in Business Economics, Economics, Econometrics, or a technical discipline supplemented with financial education and/or experience.
• —Approximately 2 years of experience in venture capital, private equity, investment banking, M&A, or strategy consulting.
• —A strong interest in the transition to a more sustainable economy.
• —A passion for and curiosity about tech start-ups and scale-ups, and how emerging technologies can accelerate both impact and financial returns.
• —Experience building and working with complex financial models and advanced Excel skills.
• —Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Dutch and English.
